Central Coast Speedway Karts - Rnd 1

from Vic Maastricht

With the unpredictable Central Coast weather of the last 2 months finally on our side, our track crew started Friday lunchtime to bring the track in. Saturday continued fine, and enabled many karters to run their motors in, after missing our practice day due to rain.

However, Sunday started out overcast, and with the prediction of rain still looming, we endeavoured to get as much racing in as possible. A slight drizzle at times reduced the need for water, but an eventual downpour just before lunch, and continuing heavy rain, just after starting the third round of heats, forced the Stewards to abandon the meeting and declare the results after the first two heats.

Numbers were a little down due to the weather, but all drivers that did compete reported that the track was in great condition !

Some great drives of the day were produced by:
Midgets – Levi Moir and Luke Sayre, each taking a first & second respectively.
Rookies – Reagan Angel taking out both heat wins.
Juniors – Joel Bond – a heat win, and Greg Martin with his last race day as a Junior.
Clubman Light – Nathan Bailey for his first class win and Justin Cox continuing his fine form.
Clubman Heavy – Matthew Bond still whipping the competition.
Clubman Over 40 – Greg Paul, back this year with a first up race win.
KT Modified – Nathan Bailey again taking out both heats in his first race meeting in the class.
