Another Podium For Scott Rossi

press release

Canadian pilot Scott Rossi claimed another strong podium result at the final round of the Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) WinterNationals held at the Calspeed Karting facility in Fontana, California. Rossi was set to score another victory on Saturday before a rear tire problem ended his day but the senior rookie came back in Sunday’s action to finish on the podium.

Moving from the Junior Intercontinental A (JICA) class to the 125cc Intercontinental C (ICC) division and being teamed with Vince Mandarino, Rossi was quick all day on Friday as his times put him near the top of the chart. Looking to continue the success of Saturday, Rossi qualified his Vince Mandarino powered Aluminos /GPchassis to a solid third place. Running the two heat and final format, Rossi claimed a second place result in the first heat, a solid victory in the second heat and well leading the final a tire problem ended his day early  in the opening laps.

Looking for redemption on Sunday, Rossi put his Aluminos ride on the pole position and went on to claim victory in the first heat race. In only his third Intercontinental C (ICC) race, Rossi made a rookie mistake by stalling on the line for the second heat race which relegated him to the tail of the field for the third and final race. Rossi had a great start in the final and progressed forward to the second position and was looking to challenge for the lead but fell short as the checkered flag flew.

“The WinterNationals series has been great for me to gain the much needed experience aboard a shifter,” explained Scott Rossi after the event. “I have learned so much with the Aluminos squad and Vince and I hope that I can turn that experience into race winning results throughout the 2008 season.”

Rossi will now trade his Aluminos shifter package in for a Genesis Racing CRG Intercontinental A (ICA) ride and do battle in the Snap-on Stars of Karting presented by IndyCar Series Western division as well as Canada’s Rok Cup series.
