Pete's Plea For Nationals Support

press release

Current dual state title holder and hot favourite to win this years nationals in the elite Clubman Heavy class, Peter Lawler, is heading to Tassie on the smell of an oily rag.

Lawler achieved some great results in 2007 and has already won the first round of the 2008 NSW premier state cup against the highly rated Troy Hunt and he has done it all with very little support. Lawler said today "I know I can give someone some really good exposure, my results speak for themselves, I have been on the top three podium spots at every major meeting since switching to Monaco. With some backing I know I can win the big one, the Clubman Heavy national title".

Peter has been in sparkling form over the last year and in his last ten starts he has eight first places and two thirds, a remarkable effort considering the level of talent in the Clubman Heavy ranks at the moment. "The effort we are putting in in testing is really paying off for me and having Shayne Piper building my engines I am able to work with him to get the best out of both chassis and engine".

Lawler has won ten state title and two Australian titles in his twenty years of karting and would like nothing more than to win another Aussie crown in the class many believe to be the toughest class at the moment in karting. With name's like Matt Wall, Troy Hunt, Jason Hrynuik, and many more big name stars it won't be a walk in the park for Lawler. Then there are the locals who always find themselves mixing it with the best in the country and we can't forget Remo Luciani who has also been putting in a big effort for these titles losing a stack of weight and clocking up a few hundred kilometers in testing.

So with Lawler heading to Tassie on the tightest of budgets, can he win the big one? Against all the odds, against all the names time will tell. He has the talent, he has the kart and engine package lets hope he has the luck and lets hope he gets some support!!
