Youngster's Good Start To Speedway Season

press release

After two completed rounds of the 2008 NSW Speedway Kart Title, ‘Midget’ class competitor James Peters has finished in fourth and third place respectively in the two rounds so far this year and has made a good start to achieving his season goal of a Top 3 overall result in the ‘Midget’ class championship.

In only his third year of Speedway Karting, the 9-year-old has shown plenty of speed and has been rewarded with two consistent results to start his 2008 NSW Title campaign.

Last year Peters enjoyed considerable success, which included numerous race wins and podium finishes, and ended up finishing 11th overall in the ‘Midget’ class point score. Another highlight for Peters during his debut season was being awarded the best presented Speedway Kart in the entire NSW Speedway Kart Club, and presentation is something that the entire Peters family hold in high esteem.

Peters has very much enjoyed Speedway Karting so far and has made a lot of new friendships and most importantly continues to improve his driving, as his results demonstrate. “I have a lot of fun driving my Speedway Kart and one of the great things about being involved in the sport is the friendships you make and that the whole family can be involved,” the youngster said. “With each time I go out onto the track I continue to learn more things and that allows my results to improve.

“The aim for this year is to finish within the Top 3 of my class Title overall for the year, and if I can get a few wins in a couple of rounds that would be awesome, but I want to remain consistent most of all.”

Peters, who is nicknamed Krusty, regards his main rival in the ‘Midget’ class as fellow second year racer Corey Foyle.

The next round of the NSW Speedway Kart Title is to be held at the Nepean Motorsport Complex on Sunday, March 30.

Peters would like to say a special thanks to his parents Bernie and Jayne for all their support, along with his sponsors: Graham’s Painting Service, Marinucci Packaging, Sports 2 U, Letter Art Signs and Graphics, and Karting World – Camden.
