On Saturday at the Indy 800 Kart Track, near Windsor in the Hawkesbury Shire of NSW, the third round of the ProKart Australia Super Sprint 4’s Series was fought out and it certainly saw plenty of wins and fierce on track action.

Yet again, it was local Mitchell Hewitt that continued his reign at the head of the field in the Senior Light class, and after missing the previous round, the youngster found his touch and was only defeated on one occasion over the round, during the third heat race by arch rival Brendan Long.

Hewitt, who resides in Hawkesbury township of Wilberforce, took out both the final and pre final in the Senior Lights, along with heat one and two, along with topping the time sheets in qualifying, so it was certainly a dominant run but he was kept honest as usual by Brendan Long.

Nathan Kuhlmann had to contend with Nicole Ziedan in the Senior Sportsman class, but he managed to come out on top by taking victory in both the final and pre final defeating Ziedan on both occasions. However, earlier in the event Kuhlmann was upstaged by Ziedan who took out two of the three heat races.

In the Senior Heavy class Rick Ward made it three round wins in succession by winning the final in comfortable fashion ahead of Jay Cutting and Phil Jurd. For Ward he won the pre final, won two out of the three heat races, and finished back in fourth place during the opening heat race, which was taken out by Phil Jurd.

The Junior action resulted in James Burn taking victory in the final when he downed Nick Hodgskin and Jessica Hodgskin in second and third respectively. Earlier in the event Kaylah Tenneson was fastest in qualifying and won the opening heat race, before Kyle Paterson won a heat race and Jessica Hodgskin won both a heat race and the pre final.

Round four of the ProKart Australia Super Sprint 4’s Series will be held at the Pacific Park International Raceway, Wauchope (North Coast of NSW), on Saturday, April 19.
