Speedway Results - CCSKC Championships Round 2

press release

Hosted by Central Coast Speedway Kart Club on Sun 6 April 2008, Gosford Kart Speedway, Gosford Showground.

With overcast conditions, several light showers and a recently graded track, our third meeting of the year produced an awesome days racing ! Quite a few drivers especially commented on the track, which held up perfect all day and allowed some great outside passing for those who dared !

In the Midget class, Luke Sayre edge out Kyle Angel with 2 heat wins and 2 second places on the day . It is also great to see Olivia Windon back racing this round.

The Rookies ended up with Daniel Sayre blitzing the field, almost claiming maximum points. Well done to Nikki Briton and  Tyler Flowers for also getting on the podium after earlier racing incidents.

In the Juniors, Bradley Giffen and Chris Deighton levelled on points with two race wins and two second placings each. However, on the count back it was Bradley that got the honours for the day.

With a large field of Clubman Lights again, Nathan Bailey ended up winning the day with 3 race wins, followed by Simone Smidt with consistent high placings in each race. Congratulations also to Stephen Coghlan for his third place (also on a countback).

In one of our largest fields of Clubman Heavies for a while, Les Green was victorious, followed closely by Ross Turnbull and Joel Rhind.  Well done Ross, as we believe your last meeting was the State Titles last year !

The Clubman Over 40 class had a few returning drivers this round, with Stuart Bond taking the days honours, with only a few points separating first to fourth!  Mick Martin produced another great day of racing to come third, and is now leading the Club Championship !

Our KT modified class continues to grow each meeting, and new entrant this year, Nathan Bailey, took out first place again. Only a few points behind, was one of our regulars, Greg Ryan, with Nathan Dicker coming in 3rd after a DNF in the feature race.
