DD2s Ready To Rumble At ACT Titles

Six Rotax DD2 powered karts are expected to make the field in the Open Performance class at the upcoming Stable Karting ACT TItles at Fairbairn Park on May 25. This will probably be the largest gathering of DD2s at a race meeting in Australia.

"We have taken delivery of the only EVX DD2 Tony Kart chassis currently in the country and this kart will be driven by Rotax Heavy driver Steve Martin" event sponsor Stable Karting informed KartSportNews. Joining Martin in the class will be six time ACT Titles Rotax Heavy Champ Bruce Otter aboard his new Rotax RM1 kart and Gordon Wells and Doug Potter who have both acquired new Arrow AX9 DD2 chassis.

"We will have all bases covered over the weekend, inviting Rotax importer Ian Black down to join the crew and personally selecting his own team driver for his Intrepid DD2 chassis. If you have an AKA B Licence and can get hold of either a DD2 or Gearbox kart, come on down and have a shot at the title."

The Rotax DD2 is a 2 speed gearboxed engine with 'paddle-shift' providing fast and precise gear changes. The DD2 engine is chainless (so no chain lube or adjustments) and is low maintenance like its sister engine, the FR125 MAX.
