Kosmic Take Top Spots in Leopard WA

press release

Kosmic Karts narrowly missed a clean sweep of the honours in Leopard Light at the weekend's City of Perth titles at the Cockburn International raceway.

The first round of the Leopard series in WA was well subscribed in both divisions, with the Kartforce Kosmic drivers Brad Fitch, Michael Goss and Lloyd Bilick the powerhouse team in lights.

Fitch was dominant in the opening heats with Bilick and Goss not far behind and getting quicker and quicker. Only the CRG of Lewis Shugar seemed to be able to match the Kosmics for pace. However, fate dealt a cruel blow in the pre final with Bilick having engine problems and not starting and Fitch, off pole, being knocked off the track in the rolling laps. A remarkable recovery from half a lap behind saw Fitch cut through the field to finish seventh, with fellow Kosmic driver Goss taking the top spot for the final.

With the Kosmic rocket ships on pole (Goss) seventh (Fitch) and last place (Bilick) all eyes were on the Kartforce drivers. Goss lead comfortably from the start and Fitch instantly lit up the afterburners and gave chase - unfortunately an incident on lap two ended his run but Bilick was flying at the speed of light. With two laps to go Bilick’s Kosmic had cut through the pack as he gave chase to team mate Goss. Laps ran out for Bilick but the team was happy with a one-two finish and are looking forward to next weekends Leopard round two for the clean sweep.
