Teams Battle In WSK International Series

press release

At the South Garda Circuit in Lonato the third round of the WSK International Series has started. The teams too are in the running for the Eurocup. Tony Kart (KF1 and KZ2), Morsicani Racing (KF2) and Intrepid France (KF3) lead the classifications.

The usual free practices session gave start to the half-season’s weekend. After those races we will have a best view of the classifications, about the position of the favourite drivers. But this year the teams too are in the running: every registered team nominated two drivers, to score points in the 2008 Eurocup classification.

In KF1 Tonykart Racing is led by the trio Marco Ardigò, Gary Catt (pic, above), Will Stevens that managed to stay in the lead despite the difficulties caused by the weather in Angerville. A big step forward, after the second meeting for Kosmic Racing Department (Bressan & Bollingtoft), while we have an interesting battle for third place. Birel Motosport (Cesetti & Toman) are up one place, overtaking Genikart Ltp (Piccioni & Alabart). However, Parrot’s fantastic performance, under the French storm, upgrades MGM Racing (Parrot & Merlini), now third having equal points as Birel.

KF3 is the domain of Intrepid France. Intrepid France, satellite team owned by the manufacturer from Verona, leading with Jonathan Helias and Brandon Malsano (pic, below), with a good advantage over Tony Kart Junior Team (Jenkins & Moller Madsen). The surprise in this class is De Vries Competition represented by Nyck De Vries: in the lead after the Dutchman’s win at La Conca, Netherlands will now have to pick up after the unlucky race in Angerville.

In KF2 the leader is Morsicani Racing. KF2 scores, at the moment, only the initial round at Muro Leccese. At the next meeting in Lonato, Morsicani Racing will be presenting Aniello Smarazzo (pic, right), on their FA Kart, to defend class leadership. Birel Motorsport is the next one up (Harvey & Patrono) and Austrian KSB RacingTeam (Da Conto & Baumann) follows just two points behind.

Factories dominate in KZ2. Tony Kart Racing Team leads, with Marco Ardigò and Andrea Benedetti concluded an impeccable race in Angerville, in the only race so far raced. Comer Spa (Frech & Lammers) follows, and they did race well  in  France in the fight that Lammers fought with leader. Then comes Energy Corse (Gallepe & Lavanant), which is another team that has done very well over this early stage of the season.
