Qld Titles Entries Closing Friday

AKA press release

Entries for the 2008 Queensland State Karting Championships presented by Smart City Vocational College, to be held in Rockhampton on July 4 – 6 are closing this Friday.

The event is set to be one of the biggest on the Australian karting calendar with over 300 competitors expected to converge on the Rockhampton region.

Located 23 km south of Rockhampton on the Bruce Highway the 861m Fitzroy Park Raceway is one of the best circuits in the country.

In last weekend’s warm-up event the action was thick and fast with the likes of Ryan Fulcher, Scott Simpson and John Grother all gaining valuable practice before next month’s championships.

“Last weekend was a great shakedown event and now all of our focus as a club is going towards making sure that the state championships are a real success,” said Club President Gavin Dicinoski.

“This is the third time the club has hosted the state titles and is probably going to be the biggest yet.

“It is important for all the drivers to get their entries in by this Friday to make sure that they can come and enjoy a great race meeting in a superb part of Australia.”
