Vintage Karts To Rev Up At Tamworth

Vintage and Historic Karts Australia will be conducting their first Australian Vintage Kart Demonstration at Tamworth on August 23-24.

Vintage karters from all around the country will converge upon Oakburn Park for the first of what is hoped to be many annual vintage get-togethers. A rich selection of karting history from the late 50s through 60s, 70s and 80s to current karting will be on show and on track.

It will be run for karts in accordance with Chapter 53 (Vintage karts) of the 2008 AKA rule book. For drivers wishing to only participate in Vintage Karting, a special vintage license is available from the AKA.

Tamworth Club was established in 1961, with racing upon their original Victoria Park circuit. This was one of the first country tracks in NSW to be bitumen sealed, in late 1962. In recent years, the club has relocated to the current circuit at Oakburn Park, a fast flowing circuit near the Tamworth Airport.
