Lawler Strikes Back

press release

After a two month layoff, Peter Lawler returned this weekend to racing at the NSW Premier State cup and he did it in style blitzing the opposition all weekend.

Competing in the prestigious Clubman Heavy category Lawler put his Shane Piper powered Monaco Chassis on pole with an outstanding time of 50.4 sec around the Newcastle track he calls home.

Lawler then went on to win every race in what was described as pure domination. Beating home the like’s of Jason Hynruik , Jason Varley, Greg Turner and Daniel Baker.

He now leads the senior points score and looks good to repeat his effort from last year and win both senior point score and clubman heavy championship.

So far this year he has won at Oran park and Newcastle, the only glitch being when he finished second at Lithgow.

Peter had this to say after the meeting at Newcastle. “ I am really happy with the way the kart and engine package worked this weekend it was fast from the moment we hit the track. Shane and I have put many hours into the engine development and it's really paying off.”

And his plan’s for the rest of the year? “ Well I want to hopefully win the senior point score again that will make three times I have won it so that’s a goal. Also I would really like to defend my NSW state title at Port Maquarie this year but we will have to wait and see how things turn out with work. It costs a lot of money to do a state title properly, but I really want to be there so we will have see how things turn out.

Peter also said he would like to thank Shane Piper race engines, Remo Racing, Monaco racing karts and Parramatta Kart Warehouse.
