Sensational fields nominate for 2008 NSW Speedway Kart Title

press release

It’s the biggie of the year when the New South Wales Speedway Kart Club presents the Angel’s Roofing Accessories 2008 NSW Speedway Kart Titles on July 26th-27th at the superb Nepean Motorsports complex.

The speedway karting ranks in Sydney have certainly been building up numbers in recent years but with near record entries nominating for the two day shoot out, the 2008 edition is shaping up to be the most hotly contested title ever seen in NSW.

The two day 2008 NSW Title is broken up with the junior divisions i.e. midgets, rookies and juniors with the premier senior class the Formula 100 all racing on Saturday and the Clubman Light & Heavy and KT Open Light & Heavy running on Sunday. Racing consists of heats and final feature races for all divisions and with large numbers the racing will be fast and sensational at the quick Nepean track.

Racing in the NSWSKC GREAT2008 Championship meetings this year has seen brilliant action in all divisions, with some of the stand outs so far this year at the Nepean have been Corey Foyle (Midgets), Michael Jordon (Juniors), David Hopping (Formula 100), Wayne Baines (Clubman Heavy) and Craig Banks (KT Heavy). These racers have been very fast but there are many other drivers who are just as competitive so we can expect some brilliant action as everyone fights for that NSW #1 crown.

In the speedway karts it’s not only the guys who are competitive, the girls are just as quick as the men and there are quite a few very talented lady racers regularly racing. Alana Baines is one lady who is as fast if not faster than the guys and she is currently right up in the NSWSKC 2008 championship points tally. A mother for two children Alana has a life long involvement in speedway as her father Sid Hopping a former speedway champion plus builder of the Parramatta Speedway.

Entries have been posted not only from NSW but there are nominations from Queensland and Victoria so we can expect a strong challenge to the local Sydney “hot shots”.

Racers like Matthew Pescod, Nathan Bailey, Matthew Goff, Wayne Baines, David Hopping and Jonathan Bright posted victories in last years NSW Title meeting and have nominated looking to post back to back NSW Title wins.

Speedway karts are producing the speedway stars of the future with sprintcar stars like Adrian Maher, Scott Darley, Roddy BellBowen Ian Madsen, speedcar racer Nathan Smee and Litre Car driver Andrew Johnson all coming from the NSWSKC ranks. Speedway karting is open for ages seven up wards with both boys and girls racing on the dirt. In the senior ranks there isn’t an age barrier so karting is very affordable and family friendly sport.

Racing starts at 10am on both days with trade displays, race cars and much more making the Angels Roofing Accessories NSW Speedway Kart Title’s the karting event of the year.

The Nepean Motorsports complex is situated on Rickards Road, Castlereagh with racing starting at 10am.
