Burns & McCleverty Off To Japan

Jason Burns and John McCleverty were the winners at the Yamaha All Japan Qualifier at Ipswich on Saturday night.

Burns won Clubman Light in a 27 kart field but had to endure a 4 way scrap to take the win. The victory means he will not contest the NSW titles at Port Macquarie in October as the final in Japan is the same weekend. Matt Goddard was a close second and set fastest lap as he recovered from falling to 8th at the start. Steven Scoble was 3rd ahead of Cian Fothergill.

Karting veteran McCleverty won the Yamaha TAG class for 100SEC engines and C & P grade drivers. With Ralph van Doorn as mechanic, McCleverty smashed the opposition and won by around three-quarters of a lap.
