Preview: Toowoomba 6-Hour

press release

The ‘Toowoomba 6 Hour’, which runs as part of round six of the Powered by Honda ProKart Australia Queensland Endurance Kart Championship, is to be staged this weekend (July 26- 27) at Greer Park Kart Raceway, near Toowoomba in Queensland.

A total of 15 teams, made up of between two to three drivers, are eager to contest the Toowoomba 6 Hour, and are aiming to power their way into victory lane at the completion of the 6 hour event.

Current championship leader and last round winner, the Adrenalin Rush Racing team, are shooting for back-to-back round wins and to also consolidate their lead in the championship. They are no doubt going to have a tough task with fellow teams; the New South Wales based Wollongong City Raceway Jets, PDS Grand Prix Racing, McMah Racing and co that will be snapping at their heels from the drop of the green flag.

Endurance Kart racing is one of the most exciting forms of Go Kart competition, as it is not all about outright speed, it’s about team work, staying out of incidents, smooth and quick pit stops, and a bit of luck if you are looking to stand on the podium at the completion of the race distance.

Teams competing in the ‘Toowoomba 6 Hour’ will have practice and qualifying sessions on Saturday and then the ‘Toowoomba 6 Hour’ race itself on Sunday.

On Saturday there will be come and try sessions, where anyone over the age of 16 is allowed to come and sample the excitement of Go Karting. If you are interested, contact Mark Johnson on 0404 460 453.

Racing is set to begin at 9am on both Saturday and Sunday. Greer Park Kart Raceway is located just off the Warrego Highway on Snellings Road in Helidon, which is East of Toowoomba.
