New Kiwi Track To Host Rotax World Final?

A new circuit under construction in New Zealand could become the venue for the 2010 Rotax MAX Challenge World Final.

An international standard karting circuit is being built at Rotorua. The track will be 1.2 kilometres in length, 8 metres wide and conform to CIK requirements enabling it to host local, regional, national and international events.

The project commenced in 2003 and has been steadily progressing since. 95% of the earthworks have been completed, including the transfer of a small lake. A secondary funding drive is about to commence. Organisers hope to have the track ready for CIK inspection by March 2009 and their website indicates an application is underway to host the 2010 Rotax World Final.
