Rochford Ups The Pace In Euro Rotax Round

After a disappointing second round, Melbourne's Daniel Rochford has bounced back in the 3rd round of the European Rotax Championship.

The Intrepid Force Rotax driver had a much stronger round and made the Finals at the Sosnova (CZ) circuit on the weekend.

After qualifying 19th (of 76 entrants), Rochford carded 7th, 6th, 6th and 12th in the heats to be ranked 17th. He then placed 13th in the pre-final against some of the best Rotax racers in the world.

A fantastic start in the final saw Daniel up to 8th position, but a crash further back in the field caused a red-flag and the race was re-started from scratch.

Another demon opening lap saw the Aussie into 9th but a series of bumps and shoves saw him slip down the field to 18th at the end and unable to replicate lap times from the pre-final.

New Zealand's Josh Hart was again competitive, placing an excellent 5th in the final.
