Petition For Aussie Drag Racer

No doubt many of you would have seen the problems that Australian drag racer Troy Critchley is facing at the moment. In June last year, Critchley volunteered his time at a charity event in Tennessee USA to raise money for disabled children. Unfortunately, while conducting a burnout for the crowd (as required by the organisers) his car veered out of control and ploughed into spectators (that were standing in an unprotected viewing area as directed by the organisiers & local police) killing 6 of them and injuring dozens more.

Critchley has subsequently been charged with 6 counts of murder (vehicular homicide was the term used) and could be facing 90 years in jail.

Many have said that Critchley is being used as a scapegoat for the poor organisation of the event and lack of safety procedures.

While this has nothing to do with karting, it is a fellow racer who is in need of our support. A petition has been established on the Team Bray website, the aim of which is to ensure the Australian Government support Critchley's fight for justice.

I urge KartSportNews readers to CLICK HERE, read the note and sign the petition.
