Another Rochford Tastes Rotax Success

AKA press release

Luke Rochford showed that he can steer a Rotax kart just as well as his older brother Daniel by taking the victory in a spectacular Junior Max final at the Sparco Rotax Nationals at VACC Park in Melbourne, Victoria today.

Daniel Rochford races for the Intrepid Force team in the Rotax Max Euro Challenge Series in Europe, but today it was his younger brother Luke in the limelight, who claimed the win in the race of the day.

The win for Rochford was backed up by his team-mate Joshua De Maio taking second place, making it a quinella for CC Racing, a team led by Clint and Peter Cathcart that is renowned for Rotax success.

A large pack of karts battled for the lead throughout the race, but over the final couple of laps Rochford was able to steer his Arrow kart clear of the pack to take the win by 1.5 seconds.

Tony Kart Australia drivers filled the next two positions, with Chris Hays grabbing the final podium spot while fellow Queenslander Tyler Greenbury was fourth.

Redspeed drivers Ben Jurczak and Max Johnston were fifth and sixth respectively, with Arrow pilots Scott McLaughlin and Matthew Hart grabbing the next two positions.
