Qld Endurance Kart Championship Roars Into Ipswich

With only two rounds remaining of the 2008 Powered By Honda ProKart Australia Queensland Endurance Kart Championship, the eighth and penultimate round ‘Ipswich 6 Hour’ that is to be played out this Saturday (September 13) at the Ipswich Kart Track, near Ipswich in Queensland, is going to be very important to the leading teams that still remain in championship contention.

After winning the past two rounds of the Queensland Championship, the Adrenalin Rush Karting team go into the eighth round of the championship, that is to be known as the ‘Ipswich 6 Hour’, currently third in the overall Queensland Championship point standings and are looking to continue their winning form and also clinch the overall 2008 Queensland Championship in the process.

Current leaders of the Queensland Championship, DQ International Racing, have had mixed results over the last two rounds, a third and 11th place, and they are no doubt aiming to get their championship run back on track and they are looking for yet another podium result, hopefully a round victory, that will help fend off their Queensland Championship challengers.

Sitting second in the Queensland Championship point standings are the PDS Grand Prix # 1 Racing team and it has been their consistency that sees them up in championship contention and with only two rounds remaining it is consistency that can sometimes be the difference between winning and losing, especially in the sport of Endurance Kart competition.

Contesting the ‘Ipswich 6 Hour’ are up to 15 teams, consisting of between 2 to 3 drivers in each team, and other front running contenders include: Wollongong City Raceway Jets, McMah Racing, Triple One Racing, BBR Racing, Hydralink Racing and a host of others.

The Ipswich Kart Track is a total of 1080 metres (1.080km) in length and is certainly one of the favoured tracks for Endurance Karting in Australia.

Practice sessions kicks off at 9am and then followed by qualifying sessions, and the ‘Ipswich 6 Hour’ is to start at 12 noon. The Ipswich Kart Track is located at Champions Way, Willowbank, near Ipswich in Queensland.
