PDS GP Team Win Gold Coast 12-Hour

In what was a dazzling display of driving and consistency the PDS Grand Prix Racing # 2 team scored their very first victory within ProKart Australia competition after they last weekend took out the annual Powered by Honda ProKart Australia 2008 Gold Coast 12 Hour Endurance Kart race.

The PDS Grand Prix Racing # 2 team, that consisted of drivers Mark Johnson, Scott Maczek, and Ian McMah, proved that they were the most consistently fast team over the 12 Hour distance, which was broken into three stages of the two day event, a 3 hour and 6 Hour race on Saturday, and then another 3 Hour on Sunday where the Gold Coast 12 Hour winner was decided.

“This is our very first win, and if there was an event that we wanted to celebrate our first win it would certainly be the Gold Coast 12 Hour, and we couldn’t be happier,” expressed Mark Johnson from the victorious PDS Grand Prix Racing # 2 team.

“We were making our debut with a brand-new Phoenix Go Kart and it performed like clockwork and all of the drivers in our team were consistently fast, and they were definitely the keys to our victory.” 

Behind the winning PDS Grand Prix Racing # 2 team were the Wollongong City Raceway Jets and Horsepower Racing in second and third place respectively on the Gold Coast 12 Hour podium.

Throughout the Gold Coast 12 Hour there was plenty of action and the tight confines of the circuit made for plenty of close and hard fought race action and the three races were peppered with numerous safety car periods.

Although heading into the Gold Coast 12 Hour as favourites the DQ International Racing, Adrenalin Rush Karting, and PAW Racing teams were hampered by bad luck and consequently were unable to reach on the podium.

Despite not finishing on the podium, the DQ International Racing team wrapped up the Queensland Championship, and Team Kaos Racing did likewise by taking out the National Championship and congratulations to both teams.
