Team Australia Prepares For Italy

press release

The five members of Team Australia are busily preparing for their forthcoming trip to the Rotax Max World Challenge Finals to be held at the picturesque La Conca circuit.

David Sera and Troy Woolston will be competing in Senior Max, Joshua De Maio and Christopher Hays in Junior Max and Rick Pringle in DD2.

Drivers have been intensively training for their trip to compete against 220 of the world’s best drivers.

Rick Pringle recently ventured north to Newcastle to familiarise himself with the DD2 engine. He completed over 150 laps around the 1052 m Cameron Park circuit including a number of 30 lap stints.

“The DD2 is simply amazing” said Rick. “The front brakes combined with the gears and the horsepower of the engine really change the whole Rotax experience. I had to make sure that I had my head around the gear changes and the bias adjustments of the brakes before I got to Italy to put myself in with a chance as I am sure many of the Europeans will have more experience with this type of racing”.

“Rick has really come up to speed quickly on the DD2” said Steven Engel, IKD’s General Manager. “His years of experience in karting and Rotax in particular stand him in good stead to perform well at La Conca.”

The Rotax Max World Challenge Grand Finals, the Olympics of karting, will be held at La Conca, Italy from 24th to 30th November 2008.

Coverage of the event will be available from IKD’s web site at www.internationalkarting.com.au.
