Karting Fires Up At Newcastle This Weekend

The Newcastle Kart Club will host it’s largest meeting of 2008 this weekend when the Newcastle City Cup fires into action.

Drivers of all ages will take to the circuit for this weekend’s event with the youngest drivers contesting the Midgets category, designed for drivers between seven and ten years of age.

It is expected there will be in excess of 150 drivers converge on the Mt Sugarloaf Circuit for this weekend’s event. There will be a total of 13 categories across a variety of ages, weights and engine capacities.

Some of the local drivers contesting this weekend’s event include recently crowned Senior National Heavy state champion Nathan Sinclair and current Australian Junior Clubman Champion James Kovacic.

The Mt Sugarloaf Circuit is located at Cnr. Cameron Park and George Booth Drives, Cameron Park.
