As you may be aware, IKD is promoting a number of race meetings in 2009 called the Pro Tour.

The Pro Tour is not a series, rather it is four professionally run race meetings connected via the National Rotax Rankings program.

Each of the events will be level 2 sanctioned events for the purpose of the National Rotax Rankings System.

The Pro Tour will be designed to ‘lift the bar’ for kart race meetings in Australia. The meetings will be run by the clock (as CIK once was), will use transponders, will offer heaps of practice, heaps of racing and prizes and will be designed to provide karters with the highest levels of competition possible to hone their skills.

The Pro Tour will be an integral part of the selection process (via the rankings system) for determining the invitees to the 2009 Rotax Max Challenge Grand Final.
 
Only five classes will be offered:

• Junior Rotax
• Rotax Light
• Rotax Heavy
• Rotax Over 35
• Open (DD2 engines only)
