Rotax Steamroller Contiunues To Roll

press release

The growth of and interest in Rotax engines in Australia has been enormous since IKD took up distribution of the products in early 2008.

During the last half of 2008 BRP‐Rotax ran a promotion worldwide where a set of MOJO tyres was provided with each Rotax Max engine sold. Australia represented 21.4% of GLOBAL sales of Rotax engines during this period. This is a clear indication of the growth and strength of Rotax racing in this country.

At the recent Third Annual Brian Farley Memorial meeting held at Eastern Creek International Karting Raceway the growth of Rotax was particularly evident.

Rotax Light and Rotax Heavy fields were more than twice the size of the 2008 Brian Farley meeting. The first running of Junior Rotax, one of the feature classes of the weekend, was extremely well supported with many interstate competitors attending ‐ highlighting the massive growth of the class since attaining National Championship status. Almost 40% of the 225 strong entry list used Rotax engines.

“Clearly Rotax is on the rise, Junior Rotax in particular” said Peter Galvin, President of the North Shore Kart Club. “As a club we have offered Rotax since 1999 and our members are now telling us that Junior Rotax is a class they want us to support so we will be including it in the club championship this year”. North Shore Kart Club will be hosting the 2009 Rotax National Titles on September 26th and 27th 2009.

This growth trend is happening across the country every weekend. The entries in Rotax Light and Rotax Heavy at the upcoming Victorian Open Titles are hugely up on the 2008 numbers.

With the addition of Racer and Club Rewards to the already successful National Rotax Rankings system the continued growth of Rotax racing is assured – why would you race anything else ?
