With 11 entries and a mid 30 deg day the scene was set for a classic show down at VACC Park a week ago. It felt like a battle between the new and seasoned drivers, and the young and.. the less than young.

Visiting driver Daniel Phivapaulos (49) smashed the local drivers in race 1 and 2 showing us what level the Oakleigh crew are at. Kyle Muscat (45) easly held 2nd in the first heat, even though Ran Maclurkin (5) made a flying start from 5th on the grid to be third after turn 1.

Race 2 was the scene of a classic 3 way battle with Ben Hardy under fire from Muscat and Maclurkin. Hardy held fast even fending off a last lap attack by Maclurkin who tried a double pass.

The final was alittle more relaxed. Phivapaulos had a technical issue and dropped out, leaving Muscat to take his first victory, followed by Hill, Mark Griffiths who had a shocking heat 1 and 2 found his form claiming his first podium. Maclurkin finished 4th, and a charging Hardy rounded out the top five.
