VKA Shows Suppport For CFA

press release

The Victorian Karting Association (VKA) has shown its support for the victims of the recent bushfires in their state by donating a cheque for $10,000 to the Whittlesea Fire Brigade earlier this week.

In presenting the cheque, VKA President David Murray acknowledged the tireless efforts that firefighters from all across Australia have put in over the past few weeks throughout Victoria.

“The tragedy of the bushfires is something that I believe has touched each and every Australian in different ways, especially many members of the VKA,” said Murray.

“Our sport relies on the support of local communities, not only here in Victoria but all across the country and without organisations such as the Whittlesea Fire Brigade karting wouldn’t be as strong as it is.

“The people in the Whittlsea area have been severely affected by the fires and by providing support to the local brigade we hope that it will assist them in the rebuilding and recovery process.”

The Victorian Open Sprint Kart Championships, originally scheduled for February 13 – 15 at the Hume International Raceway in Seymour and postponed due to the fires, will be held at the same venue on May 8 – 10.
