Karters Urged To Come Together For A Good Cause

AKA press release

Kart racers from all across the country are being encouraged to join forces for a good cause when the Rockhampton Kart Club hosts the Lois Gall Memorial race on Sunday March 15.

The Event will not only provide an opportunity for racers to compete on the fabulous Fitzroy Park Raceway but also to assist in raising funds for the Salvation Army’s bushfire appeal in the process.

“Lois Gall was an inspiration to everyone in the Rockhampton Club and was instrumental to the growth of the sport in the region. Since her passing a few years ago from cancer we have held this meeting in her honour but this year it has even more significance,” said Event Co-ordinator Matt Dicinoski.

“While we may be over 2000 kilometres away from where the fires were, it has certainly hit home here with a number of our members affected in different ways through family and friends in the region which is why we are ‘doing our bit’ towards the rebuilding process in Victoria.

“We are aiming for the Event to be not only a serious race meeting but also one where everyone attending has fun for a great cause.

“At the moment we are still finalising the details and are hoping to attract one or two high profile drivers from other forms of motorsport to attend the Event.”

Practice will be held on Saturday March 14 with racing contested on Sunday March 15.

Further details on the Event can be obtained by contacting Rockhampton Kart Club Secretary Jannell Brydon on 07 4936 1175.
