The 'Pink Slip' Poll

The AKA South Australia website indicates the state body is going to make public the details of 'pink slip' offences in that state (click HERE to have a read).

The idea is that there will be a 'Pink Slippers' page that lists the various misdemeanors that drivers are reported for at race meetings in South Australia. By making this information public, everyone will be able to see the results of protests, appeals and charges laid by officials.

The question is, if it's good enough for South Australia, should the AKA be doing this on a National level? Should the results of these offences, and the people and details concerned, be distributed to the karting media for publication?

Surely a 'name-and-shame' campaign would keep competitors in order. The list would educate karters what they can be pinged for and make them think twice about risky interpretation of rules, over zealous driving etc. In time, one would think the number of these offences (and the time consumed resolving them) would decrease.

However on the other hand, does karting really want to be seem as a sport full of turmoil? Should these matters be resolved behind closed doors to give the sport a squeeky clean image to the public? Would inclusion on the list unfairly compromise a karter's position in a future incident?

Is this a good or bad thing for karting? KartSportNews has set up a poll for you to take a vote:

Note: this is not an official AKA poll
