Round 3, King Of Sydney

Another great days racing at Eastern Creek with 24 starters. The Over 40 ‘J’s class had the biggest field on the day and plenty of action. Sponsored by  NSKC & KART 1.

The series organizer, Iain Thornton , has put in a huge effort to organize this series and its been a complete success. Heat 1 : Brian Sciberras came from mid pack to take the lead with 3 laps to go. He went on to take the win with Thornton 2nd, Rietdyk 3rd.
 
Heat 2: New comer to the series Wayne Ellis (the Lithgow specialist) starting from the front took control and went on to win with Sciberras 2nd & Pontello 3rd.

Prefinal: An incident in the early laps took out 6 with a few front runners involved. Meanwhile Ellis, Sciberras, Pontello & Thornton raced nose to tail at the front and they finished in that order with Goodall 5th.

Final : Ellis, Sciberras, Pontello ,Thornton were joined by Goodall to clear away from the rest of the field in the early laps. Thornton spun and left the 4 remaining front runners to battle it out for the top spot. Ellis, Sciberras, Pontello then gapped Goodall. Both Sciberras & Pontello threw everything at Ellis but he held on to take the win. Ellis 1st, Sciberras 2nd, Pontello 3rd, Goodall 4th, Rietdyk 5th.

There were plenty of prizes for the drivers at presentation

All the drivers had a great day and are looking forward to the next round at Lithgow on 24th May 2009.
