Message To All Rotax Pro Tour Competitors

press release

Firstly, I would like to thank everyone for racing at the Rotax Pro Tour on the weekend at Newcastle. Although the weather was not kind to us, the weekend was still a big success. I would like to particularly thank the Newcastle Kart Racing Club for all their efforts, under difficult conditions I think they did a fantastic job. I would also like to personally thank the officials who give up their time and without their help events like the Rotax Pro Tour would not be possible.

I have identified a number of areas where we can improve the event even further and these will be implemented for the next event. In particular, the race format for Junior Max on the weekend (being an oversubscribed class) was disappointing to me personally and this will be modified for the next event. My aim is to make the Rotax Pro Tour better and better wherever possible, therefore, this morning I took the decision to modify the format for the next event.

The format put simply will be qualifying, followed by 3 heats, Pre-Final and a Final.

Oversubscribed classes will run the A v’s B, C v’s D type system for the 3 heats (meaning you race all groups in the heats) to determine the automatic starters for the Pre-Final and Final. The final four starting positions in the pre-final will be determined by way of a last chance race. Wherever you finish the Pre-Final will be where you start the final.

Thanks again to everyone involved in the event and I look forward to the next event at VACC Park Todd Rd in 4 weeks time.

Best regards,
Ian Black
