Zavaglia & Tamasi Win Superkart Nationals Opening Round

Sam Zavaglia won the fourth and final race on a drying track at Mallala Motor Sport Park on the weekend to clinch the opening round of the Australian Superkart Championships after tearaway local racer Yiani Harpas slithered off the track at Clubhouse Corner into the tyre barriers.

Safe Evolutions team mates Shane Price and Darren Hossack finished second and third.

Steven Tamasi won the final race and the round for the 125cc Gearboc class taking three wins from the four races while Jeff Reed and Rod Conn tied for second position.

Zavaglia leads the points 75 to Hossack's 61 and Yiani Harpas 57 heading into the next round at Sydney's Eastern Creek Raceway.
