Another Podium For Scott McLaughlin

press release

After yet another successful weekend of Senior Clubman Light karting, Scott McLaughlin has finished the Northern Territory Sprint Kart Titles with a third place finish overall, and in doing so, recorded his sixth podium finish from the eight meetings he has contested since entering the senior ranks at the start of the year.

Having celebrated his Sixteenth Birthday in the lead up to the Darwin event, Scott was delighted with his weekend considering he had never previously seen the long, 1.053-kilometre circuit and felt he drove as hard as he could in his quest to wrest the title away from the thirteen-strong Clubman Light field.

Said Scott, “We started off great and claimed pole position in qualifying, which caught the attention of a few but the track was extremely hard on rear tyres and we struggled to find a set-up that stayed consistently quick enough to come home on top in the races – we were right there less than a second away mostly, but couldn’t quite take the win.  Robbie and Phil (Scott’s engineering group) worked hard all weekend however, we just didn’t quite crack the nut on chassis set-up, but I am always happy to score a Top-3 finish and claim another trophy for the cabinet.”
