Wet Toowoomba Races As Martell Wins V8Race Ride

A cool and rainy day provided a rare opportunity for local and visiting karters to hone their wet weather racing skills on Sunday June 21 at Greer Park Raceway. So seldom do karters run into a wet meeting at Toowoomba that many left their wet tyres at home, and were obliged to race on slicks.

However, right from the 7 year old Midgets, through to the older groups, some spectacular driving was on display all day. Most impressive was Bundaberg visitor and current Rotax National Champion, Kel Treseder, who raced on slicks, and lapped almost the entire field.

Jim Mann from Muffler Kings presented the trophies at the end of the day, and drew out Alex Martell’s name for the ride with him at the wheel of a Qld Raceway V8 Race Car. Alex was left speechless, but is expected to sport a huge grin after several laps of Qld Raceway later this year.
