Above: Contact in the pre-final saw David Sera DNF with a flat tyre. Starting off the rear for the Rotax Light final, Sera clawed his way through the field and hunted down Daniel Rochford. Rochford fought back, but Sera beat him to the line (above) by 0.047s. Note the camera mounted on Deadly's nassau panel - man, I hope we get to see some trick stuff from that. Sera's turn-in-to-apex entry speed is awsome and a number of his passes were made almost by scaring his opponents off the apex!

Above: Redspeed's Ben Jurczak put in a great drive in the final, recovering from a poor opening lap to withstand the presure from Max Johnston. Ben had earlier qualified fastest.

Above: Who let the Midget loose in Junior MAX? Pierce Lehane was a giant killer on the track, dropping back to 7th in the final before setting fastest lap on his way to third.

Above: A proud moment for Kym and Tyson Pearce, Tyson a clear winner in the CIK class and the new Vic Champion. By a clear winner, we mean he was undefeated. The racing at the front was pretty close, the top three in Final 2 all doing a 40.7s fastest lap

Above: Steven Scoble made his CIK debut aboard a Kart-1 Arrow. Plagued by an engine problem in the heats, replaced electricals and fuel saw Scoble charge in the ealy laps of Final 2, going from last up to second at one stage. He would finish a lucky fourth, an exhaust spring breaking on the last lap. Scoble was one of two drivers in the field driving karts with front brakes (Tyson Pearce was the other). Both commented that they didnt think they were much of an advantage at VACC Park, using the hand operated pegs only 2 times per lap.

Above: Speaking of front brakes, Hayden McBride's team went to the trouble of fitting them to his Gillard kart for the Melbourne round, but he ordered them to be taken off, believing it was too much of a change to get used to without prior testing. And who could argue? Two strong seconds right behind Pearce keeps him on the money in the series.

Above: Jordie Lindstrom pushes hard on the infield. He placed 5th after a strong drive from the back and was lucky to keep going after contact when Dave Sera came blasting through. Jordie continues at the head of the National Rotax Rankings for RL.

Above: Daniel Rochford sprinted in the Rotax Light final, building a significant lead. But for the last 10 laps it was a question of will he or wont he make it to the end before the Sera lightning would strike.

Above: Paul Rodgers' win in Rotax Heavy was a popular one, and very well deserved. He qualified fastest, but couldn't quite run with Yarwood in the heats or Pre-Final. But that changed come Finals time.
