Pre-Finals, Qld Titles - Greenbury Looking The Goods

Tyler Greenbury continued his speedy form from qualifying into the heat races and Pre-Finals in the Southern Cross Motorsports Queensland Karting Championships at the Gympie Kart Track today.

Greenbury will line up on the pole position aboard his Rotax and Leopard Light categories for tomorrow’s Championship Finals, however, his quest for victory in the Clubman Light class will be tough following an incident in today’s pre-final.

The Toowoomba teenager came together with National Champion David Sera early in the race which resulted in Greenbury dropping to the back of the field. He would eventually claw his way back to 14th spot and will start the 16-lap Championship Final from the seventh row.

Gold Coast-based Kiwi Scott McLaughlin showed superior speed to claim the win in the Pre-Final ahead of Sera.

Ben Jurczak and Chris Hays are the stars in the Junior ranks with the pair claiming pole position in the Formula JMA and Junior Clubman classes respectively.

The Clubman Heavy Final is shaping up to be another sensation event with the likes of Jason Hryniuk, Kel Treseder, Lee Mitchener, Matthew Wall and Justin Garioch all battling within a close proximity during today’s Pre-Final.

The Top Ten Results from each Final can be found below and the results will be posted on www.karting.net.au throughout the day as they happen tomorrow.
