Perfect July Races At Toowoomba

What a change from June. Perfect one day, better the next. And the racing matched the weather. Racing was held over two days, with 4 Junior classes racing on Saturday afternoon, and running their final heat on Sunday. The Rotax and Gladiator boys and girls practiced on Saturday, and on Sunday ran timed qualifying and 4 heats of racing with a final only counts format.

Some good fields across most classes, with 114 entries over the weekend, including 44 Clubman and 44 Rotax.

Birthday boy, Maxim Erickson was kept honest to lead rookies home in a close finish. Alexandra Whitley and Tim Harris raced hard in Junior Evo Heavy, while Scott Hynes was far too good in Junior Evo Light.

Tyler Greenbury found that a blue plate is no guarantee of a race win, as he had to work hard all day in both Clubman Light and Rotax Light. Jack Howard dominated JMax, while Ivo Dal-Cin was equally impressive in Clubman O/40s. Winners of all other Rotax and Gladiator classes won most of their races, and managed to hold off all challenges in the all important final.
