KIAA Open Forum To Be Held In Melbourne

The Kart Industry Association of Australia (KIAA) invites all industry members to an open forum and planning session on Saturday August 22, 2009 at 4:00pm in Melbourne.

The session will be conducted at the Rendezvous Hotel (opposite Flinders St Station) and is held in conjunction with the AKA Annual General Meeting.

Both KIAA members and non-members are welcome.

The KIAA meeting will outline the organisation’s goals, its aims and objectives and will provide a forum for the industry to discuss current issues facing karting in Australia. KIAA will also welcome any input from industry members as to what they would like to see from the Association.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity to engage with the industry and the AKA Executive, considering all major players will be in the one place for the AGM,” said KIAA President, Edward Hauswirth. “We’re inviting anyone that has a business interest in the karting industry to attend the meeting under no obligation and ask any questions they may have of the KIAA Executive.

“We’re hoping that the AKA Executive will sit in on the meeting and open themselves up to discussion with the industry. Afterwards, we’d invite everyone to join us at the Hotel bar for refreshments and further one-on-one discussion if need be.”

The Kart Industry Association of Australia aims to represent the industry’s interests at the AKA level and ensure that any regulatory decisions impacting the karting industry are made with the positive growth of the sport in mind.

KIAA is an egalitarian organisation with the best interests of karting at its core – each member regardless of its status in the industry is entitled to a single vote on issues brought before KIAA, with the majority ruling.

Annual membership to the organisation is just $100 (plus GST).
