Speedway Karts Set For Fathers Day Shootout

This coming Fathers Day (September 5) the New South Wales Speedway Kart Club is staging round 7 of the 2009 championship season at the superb Nepean Motorsports complex.

With only two rounds remaining the Wescrane sponsored Nepean Nationals meeting it’s certainly hotting up in the NSWSKC Championship as the guys and gals racing in “the glory bound rounds.”

With the KT Heavy division missing on volunteer duties the other classes, Midgets, Rookies, Juniors, KT Open Light, Clubman (Light & Heavy) and the fast Formula 100 will be present and with NSW best karters attacking the Nepean track the action promises to be sensational.

The championship points tally is certainly proving to be hotly contested with current Club Champion Wayne Baines is leading with 649 points while rookie division racer Daniel Sayre is holding down second position on 610 points and this brother Luke Sayer (Midgets) third with a solid 602 points. Round out the top ten are David Boyd (Clubman Light 590 points), Corey Foyle (Rookie 576), Alana Baines (KT Light 572), James Camilleri (Clubman Heavy 568), Nathan Bailey (Clubman Light 565), Donald Stevens (Formula 100 541) and Rhys Tuohy (Rookie 538).

In the divisions Luke Sayer is leading Taylor Rietdyk and Kaidon Brown in the Midgets while in the Rookies Daniel Sayer is holding out Corey Foyle and Rhys Tuohy. Matthew Pescod, Ashleigh Briton and Nathan Camilleri are the top three in the Juniors, with James Camilleri leading Daniel Selmes and Tim Baker in the Clubman Heavy. In the Clubman Light its David Boyd, Nathan Bailey and Stephen Coghlan the leading racers while in the KT Heavy Wayne Baines is the clear leader over John Watton and Cameron Coghlan. The final two divisions, KT Light see’s Alana Banes way out in front over Joel Goff and Jason Beattie and the premier Formula 100’s Donald Steven is holding out Sean Mayo and Jonathan Bright.

The 2009 season has produced another stellar year for the NSWSKC and the Wescrane Nepean Nationals Fathers Day shoot out should see another brilliant day of racing as the speedway karts ignite the Nepean track.

The speedway kart meetings are a great day out for the entire family, watching present and future stars of speedway racing at the Nepean Motorsports complex

The Nepean Motorsports complex is situated on Rickards Road Castlereagh with racing starting at 10am.
