6-Hour Charity Enduro At Wollongong

press release

jason varleyMultiple Australian Go Karting Champion - Jason Varley - will tackle the challenge of completing six continuous hours non-stop in a Go Kart this Sunday (September 27) around Wollongong City Raceway, near Kembla Grange on the South Coast of NSW, all in the name of charity.

Varley and the team at Wollongong City Raceway have set up Sunday’s event to help raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis Australia and to make it even better all proceeds from the entire day will be donated to Cystic Fibrosis Australia.

“It’s going to be a fantastic day and I encourage everyone to come out and support this event,” enthused Trent Warwick, who is one of the driving forces behind organising this charity event. “JV [Jason Varley] is really looking for as much support as he can get and this is for a wonderful cause, so come out and make a whole day of it.”

Six hours non-stop without a single break, other than to re-fuel in the pit area, for a Go Karter is going to be no easy feat but with the experienced Varley it is a challenge that he is more than capable of achieving.

“JV is one of the most experienced Go Karters in the country and he’ll definitely get the job done,” added a very confident Trent Warwick. “Helping JV’s cause is the fact that he is currently running in the ProKart Australia National and NSW Endurance Kart Championship and that has no doubt helped train him up for this challenge.”

Varley certainly won’t be the only Go Karter out there on Sunday as he will be joined on the Wollongong City Raceway track by close to a hundred other Go Karters that will practice at various stages throughout the six hour period. However, Varley is going to be the only driver doing the whole track session for six hours straight by himself.

Apart from Varley’s charity event, there will be a range of other live entertainment throughout the day.

There is also going to be a raffle to go into the draw on the day to win a brand-new Toyota Yaris.

Varley’s charity Go Kart event for Cystic Fibrosis will begin at 12pm on Sunday and go through to 6pm.
