Doyle's Racing Team Split For Weekend

Doyle’s Racing Kartsport driver, 18yo Brendan Nelson flew to Melbourne late this Thursday night after University lectures, to participate in the weekend's Victorian HorsePower Heaven & Leopard Final Karting event. 

Brendan will contest the Leopard Heavy class this weekend against other drivers from around Australia, with a view to standing atop the Podium and winning the brand new Leopard Kart / Engine package on offer to the class winner.  He also hopes to win the added lucky draw prize of a brand new Toyota motor car, to be randomly drawn from all participating drivers.

The inaugural event at Todd Road is set to also receive television coverage on Melbourne's Channel 31.  The local "In Pit Lane" program will feature a preview of Horsepower Heaven, with event organiser Dominic Albanese as a guest of the show.  Melbourne performer Nicole Banks will also be performing on the "In Pit Lane" show, providing a preview of what is to come at Horsepower Heaven.  The former Australian Idol top 15 finalist is scheduled to entertain the crowd on track this Saturday 31st of October. 

Proudly sponsored by Toyota Australia, IAME (Italian Engine company), MG Tyres (Brazilian Kart Tyre Manufacturer) and Remo Racing (Australian Karting Distributor), the 2009 Leopard Final Shootout is set to be a cracker of a Kart Race meet.

Whilst Brendan is competing in Melbourne, DRK 's Trevor Beetham is preparing for this coming weekend's Podium Motorsport Masters & Apprentices to be held at Greer Park Raceway, Toowoomba.  Trevor has been working with CRG Factory Team driver, Jason Pringle on the set-up of his blue/green CRG Clubman Heavy Kart.  He will compete in the Masters class (+30yo) this weekend. 

Fellow DRK team driver and younger brother, Robbie Beetham will also be at Toowoomba, but out of the racing seat assisting to organise the tremendous Vintage Kart display on and off track.

Junior DRK driver Mitchell Gee may also join the Beetham brothers in competition at Toowoomba, with a view to keeping some race miles under his belt.
