More Aussies To Make Rotax World Final

Australia will get to send an unprecedented 9 (yes, NINE!) drivers to the 2010 Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Final.

"This in fantastic news for Rotax racers in Australia" said Ian Black of IKD, the Australian Rotax distributor. "It means that nine drivers will have the opportunity to compete at this prestigious event - a truly once in a lifetime opportunity".

“The success of the Rotax Pro Tour has been acknowledged by Rotax and they are giving us further support beyond my expectations. Rotax have seen that the Pro Tour has given them exposure around the world and I am glad that our efforts are being acknowledged by Rotax.”

Even though there are 250 positions available at the 2010 event, there is increased pressure from Rotax distributors around the world for more positions and many distributors have actually had their allocation reduced - yet Australia has been given an increase.

“Each year we find that Rotax becomes present in new countries and we have to offer them positions at the World Final too" Helmut Voglsam, Sales Director for Rotax Kart Engines said. "Generally speaking, allocations are being reduced, but because IKD in Australia has introduced so many good initiatives that are working, it is time that we increase our level of support to the Australian market.”

The location of the 2010 event is yet to be announced, but it is sure to be a location that is ‘exotic’ as one of Rotax’s goals is that the event also provides a cultural experience for those who attend.

IKD will make an announcement soon about how the 9 people will be determined but it is safe to assume that the best way to get involved is to compete at the 2010 Rotax Pro Tour and the 2010 Rotax Nationals to get your National Rotax Ranking as high as possible.

The first round of the 2010 Rotax Pro Tour is at the end of January at Geelong VIC so now is the time to plan to attend this event.

Stand by for more exciting announcements for Rotax racers in Australia... this is only the beginning!
