State Based Rotax Series in 2010

press release

IKD is planning to organise a state based Rotax Series in 2010. The series will include NSW,
VIC, QLD, SA & WA.

Ideally, each series will be conducted over five events and will provide a high level of Rotax racing, true to the winning formula of Rotax engines and MOJO tyres.

Classes that will be offered by the host club at each round are:

  • Junior Rotax 145kg
  • Rotax Light 160kg
  • Rotax Heavy 180kg
  • Rotax Over 35s 170kg

These classes are to be run as per the Rotax classes in the AKA rule book on MOJO D2 tyres.

A Junior Rotax 160kg class can be offered by the host club but is not compulsory.

IKD will be providing a free engine to each series. This will be given away at the final round by way of random draw. The winner can choose a Junior or Senior Max engine. Each person who enters an event will be given a ticket in the draw for each round that they compete, therefore the more rounds you race, the more chances you have to win the engine.

IKD will also provide 1 set of MOJO D2 tyres that will be given away at each event by way of random draw at the drivers meeting.

Host Clubs will be encouraged to send the results to IKD for inclusion in the National Rotax Rankings.

This new series will be a fantastic Australia wide opportunity for Rotax racers and reaffirms IKD’s commitment to support Rotax racing in Australia. Racing the series increases the ability for racers to boost rankings points and ultimately increases the chance of winning a spot at the Rotax Max Challenge World Final.

Details of the state series events will be released very soon.

Stay tuned for more exciting initiatives from IKD—in particular for SA and WA racers!
