The year 2009 can be regarded as a breakthrough year for ProKart Australia with the Powered by Honda ProKart Australia National, New South Wales and Queensland Endurance Kart Championships all enjoying their strongest year to date.

All three of the Powered by Honda ProKart Australia Championships reported growth within the team numbers on a consistent basis all year and also increased media coverage, which included television, newspaper, radio and magazine coverage.

The racing itself in all three Powered by Honda ProKart Australia Championships was second to none and all three championship overall point standing battles came down to the final rounds which created plenty of excitement for participating team and race fans alike.

The # 3 Wollongong City Raceway Jets were the most dominate of teams within both the Powered by Honda ProKart Australia National and New South Wales Championship and they did it in sensational fashion. Over the four National rounds the # 3Wollongong City Raceway Jets won three out of the four rounds and the in the NSW Championship they emerged victorious in five of the eight rounds. Without a doubt the highlight of the year for the # 3 Wollongong City Raceway Jets was their stunning victory in the ‘Ipswich 24 Hour’.

Teams such as # 98 Adrenalin Rush Karting and defending National and NSW Champions # 1 Team Kaos kept the # 3 Wollongong City Raceway Jets throughout the National Championship that was decided at the final round. In the NSW Championship the # 3 Wollongong City Raceway Jets were not out of the top four finishers in each round and therefore wrapped up the point standings battle with one round to spare. The likes of # 1 Team Kaos, # 777 Horsepower Racing, # 82 Team SPR, # 21 Walkos Shire Racing and co that were other teams that enjoyed success during various stages of the NSW Championship.

In the Queensland Championship it was defending champions, the Adrenalin Rush Karting team, that scored back-to-back wins. The # 86 Adrenalin Rush Karting 2 team didn’t have it all their own way as team-mates # 98 Adrenalin Rush Karting, # 50 Team 5150R and # 27 Resi Sales Racing outfits kept them honest from the opening round right through until the final round of the Queensland Championship battle.

If the successful of 2009 is anything to go by, then expect to see this year’s Powered by Honda ProKart Australia National, New South Wales and Queensland Championship to be bigger and better than ever before.
