Racer TV A Hit On Debut

Despite a few teething technical difficulties, organisers have hailed the debut of Racer TV a success following the completion of the recent Wollongong 1000 ProKart event recently.

Throughout the race, Racer TV consistently had 30 viewers and there were over 400 unique visits during the event - a pleasing initial result for ProKart Australia owner Tony Pullen.

“Whenever you venture into something new there is always doubt whether it will be successful or not" Pullen said. "But the response from (the) Racer TV opening coverage has proven that this venture is going to be successful.”

"The coverage from Racer TV allows friends, family and supporters of people involved in ProKart Australia competition, who may not be able to make it out to the event, the opportunity to keep track of all the action over the internet live.”

The coverage included commentary plus interviews with the drivers and team managers throughout the Wollongong 1000 event.

“We had a number of people from ProKart Australia involved in doing guest commentary and they all did a fantastic job" Pullen commented. “It was great for the viewers to be able to listen to interviews with some of the drivers and the team managers and it gave them a better insight into what was happening during the race. Full credit must go to the drivers and team mangers that gave up their time during the race to be part of the interviews.”

The next scheduled event for Racer TV is the opening round of the Queensland Championship at Gympie Gold Raceway. This 7-hour race will be run this weekend (February 20 and 21)
