NSW Endurance Kart Championship Battle Resumes at Eastern Creek

press release

The ‘World Class’ Eastern Creek International Karting Raceway, near Blacktown in NSW, is the venue for the second round of the Powered by Honda ProKart Australia NSW Endurance Kart Championship that is to be held this Saturday (March 20).

Named as the ‘Eastern Creek 6 Hour’, the second round of the NSW Championship follows a sensational opening round, last month’s Wollongong 1000, and that is expected to continue.

Winners of the opening round, defending National and NSW Champions Jets Motorsport made the perfect start to the year and there is no doubt that they are looking to consolidate their lead in the overall point standings by winning back-to-back wins.

Locally based team, # 6 Team Kaos, are looking to open their 2010 winning account on home soil and after a second place finish in the opening round, they are hoping to improve one spot better on the podium. If it wasn’t for some setbacks early in the opening round of the NSW Championship it quite possibly could have been a different story for Team Kaos, who are both former National and NSW Championship winners.

Second year racers, # 82 Team SPR, have proven they have what it takes to be a front running contender and their third place result at the opening round indicated that and it shouldn’t be too long before they stand in victory lane. This Saturday could prove to be their day.

Other teams looking to build on their impressive opening round results include # 14 Two Dogs Racing and # 88 All Birt Racing.

Teams aiming to bounce back from opening round disappointments and get right back into winning contentions are the likes of # 98 Adrenalin Rush Karting and # 777 Horsepower Racing.

In total, there are in excess of 25 teams set to contest the ‘Eastern Creek 6 Hour’.

Each team contesting the ‘Eastern Creek 6 Hour’ has between two and five drivers per team and throughout the race they are required to make numerous pit stops for things such as driver changes, fuel, tyre changes and repairs. Endurance Karting is one of the most exciting and tactical forms of Motorsport and around the technical Eastern Creek International Karting Raceway circuit anything can happen. The winners in Endurance Karting are necessarily not always the fastest out on the circuit but sometimes consistency can conquer all in the end.

Practice and qualifying starts from 3pm and the ‘Eastern Creek 6 Hour’ race itself is scheduled to begin at 5pm and finish at 11pm.
