Frustration at DPE On Carby Issue

DPE, the importer/distributor of the Comer engine used in the Midgets class, is frustrated that an issue with some carburettors on the engine is yet to be addressed by the AKA.

The company issued a statement detailing the problem in January (see below).

“We wish to advise that despite this issue being raised with the AKA almost two months ago, nothing has been done” DPE General Manager George Turton informed KartSportNews. “Competitors are still confused as to what can and cannot be done. It is damaging for the class, however it’s in the hands of the AKA.”

“It was agreed at the last NKC meeting that this was an urgent issue and would be fixed by a postal vote as soon as possible” Turton continued. “DPE has put another submission to the AKA in the hope they will take action – sooner rather than later.”
