King of Sydney, Round 2

press release

The Over 40s J drivers headed to Lithgow on the weekend for the second round of the King of Sydney series.

John Horsburgh (the local) took out Heat 1. Anthony Borg had a problem and did not get to the start line. Borg won both Heat 2 & Heat 3. Horsburgh was leading Heat 3 with 1 lap remaining when he and Hodder came together at turn 1. Horsburgh managed to get going and finished 10th.

The prefinal saw Borg take the win followed closely by Horsburgh & Riches. It was shaping up to be a great Final.

In the Final, Borg made a gap early. Thornton finally got his act together and went to the lead on lap 3. Borg regained the lead and Thornton stayed behind him until 2 laps to go. Then Thornton made his move. On the last lap Borg & Thornton came together on Turn 1. Borg came out in front and this allowed Horsburgh to go into second.

1st Borg, 2nd Horsburgh, 3rd Thornton.

This round was sponsored by CDKC & CRG Race Centre - CDKC gave away a set of tyres and CRG Race Centre supplied heaps of great prizes. Pamspix chipped in with a framed picture. A Big thanks for their support.

Next round is at Eastern Creek on 16th May.
