Almost 400 Karters For KF2/KF3 Euro Qualifiers

press release

It will soon be audition time for the candidates to a place in the final of the CIK-FIA European Championships of the KF2 and KF3 (Juniors) categories. And many of them will claim a qualifying place for this continental event: nearly 400 Drivers - exactly 392 - will fight it out on 1st and 2nd May within the framework of direct and indirect confrontations. These 400 candidates will indeed not all meet at the same venue as the qualifying events are simultaneously held on three tracks and in three different countries.

For the occasion, the European continent will be divided into three regions called «Western», «Central» and «Northern».

Gathering Portuguese, Spanish, French, Swiss, Monaco, Irish and British competitors, the so-called «Western» region event will be organised in Great Britain on the PF International circuit at Brandon (Lincolnshire). It will be the great return of a CIK-FIA Championship on the territory of the British Isles. Apart from the English rounds of the very specific European Superkart Championship (at Donington and Silverstone), there has not been any meeting with the CIK-FIA label across the Channel since 1992!

The meeting point of the Italians, Germans, Austrians, Greeks and Drivers from countries of the former Eastern Europe will be the Pro Kart Raceland circuit of Wackersdorf in Germany. It is the only circuit which will have the distinguished honour of hosting in 2010 two major CIK-FIA meetings since Wackersdorf will serve as the setting for the launching of the new «U18» World Championship on 25 July 2010.

As for Scandinavians, Russians and competitors from the Benelux and Baltic countries, they will do battle on the Thy-Hanstholm track in Denmark.

In total, no fewer than 29 different nationalities will be represented during this selection weekend.

The most brilliant performers at these admission tests (slightly more than half of the 392 candidates) will be invited to compete in the great European final on 11 July 2010 in Belgium on the Horensbergdam circuit of Genk.
