Rockpress To Sponsor Superkart Telecast

press release

The Australian Superkart Championship will be decided within view of a nationwide television audience.

Thanks to telecast sponsors Rockpress, the second round of the championship will be screened on SBS ONE as part of Speedweek.

"We believe it's definitely a category worth sponsoring," said Rockpress' Phil Silcock. "We're pleased to sponsor the telecast package and pleased to be presenting the best superkarts in the country. We're really thrilled to be involved."

Round two of the championship will be part of round 7 of the Shannons Nationals Motor Racing Championships on August 14/15 at Morgan Park.

"We're looking forward to intense battles across all three classes at the championship finale," Silcock said. "I think the new circuit will challenge everybody on an equal basis and the driver who can adjust the fastest will do the best."

This is the first appearance of superkarts on television since the non-championship Rockpress Pacific Superkart Challenge went to air last August.

"We are most appreciative of Rockpress' support of both state and national level Superkart racing," said Superkarts Australia Chairman Clint Brown. "The telecast will help bring Superkart racing to a new national audience not neccessarily familiar with the category."

Rockpress has consistently offered Quality Assured Service and Reliability to a broad spectrum of business and industry for over 30 years. Included among the products Rockpress output on a regular basis are: Commercial vehicle components, Fabricated metalwork for the Mining and Transport industries, Stainless Steel componentry for the Pharmaceutical and Food industries, Hoppers, Hoods, Brackets, Transitions, Cabinets and Tool Boxes.

Phil Silcock, a Rockpress Director, is a Superkart competitor himself, and will be racing his Stockman MR2 Honda in the 125cc class over the weekend where Phil is embroiled in a close points battle inside the class top ten pointscorers.

"I'm looking forward to a great weekends racing and hoping for a good run in front of the home crowd," said Phil.
